AMPP, Industry Leaders Celebrate 2022 Exhibit Hall Opening

Excitement was in the air on Monday evening as representatives of AMPP cut the ribbon to officially open the Exhibit Hall during the first AMPP Annual Conference + Expo. Doing the honors were Sam Scaturro and Joyce Wright, AMPP Chair and Board Chair of the AMPP Global Center, respectively, along with Joe Laehu, senior vice president of sales for the Protective & Marine division at Sherwin-Williams, and Bryan Draga, global vice president of marketing for the same division.

The Expo grand opening was a highlight of the conference calendar, as 348 vendors from around the world presented new and improved products and technologies. In addition, the event also commemorated International Women’s Day and included traditional folklore performers in their brightly colored and designed outfits.

Those present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony noted the significance of the event after two full years without conferences. “It’s exciting to finally be back in person meeting with friends and colleagues,” said Scaturro. “I’m looking forward to seeing all the new technology on display at the Exhibit Hall.”

AMPP leaders also took time to commemorate the greater social significance of the gathering.“Today we celebrate the global social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women,” Wright said. “Take the time to thank your women leaders, today and every day.”

“It’s also special to be here together on International Women’s Day,” Scaturro noted. “Each year, I see more women and more diversity in our events. I’d like to thank the women of AMPP for all they do for our industry.”

The Expo Hall remains open on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio. Unopposed hours on Wednesday run from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time.
