Soft skills are the key! You deal with people every day—starting with yourself. People of all kinds exist both inside and outside your organization. When dealing with customers, it is important to build a good and lasting relationship, while remembering that you are in the business of serving them.

This workshop at the 2022 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo is designed to help participants understand what soft skills are, learn more about themselves, and identify their next steps toward success in their career. As a bonus, learning these skills will lead to greater personal happiness.  

Topics to be covered include:

• Soft Skills/Hard Skills—Why both must be practiced every day; it starts with understanding yourself.
• Emotional Intelligence—What it means and why is it so valuable.
• Communication—The ultimate core competency everyone needs to improve.
• Differences—Understanding them and embracing them as an opportunity.
• Influence and Authority—Why is this so important.
• Managing, Leading, Following—What you need to know to succeed.
• Mentorship—A critical responsibility we all must make part of our day-to-day.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to noon local time in Room 214 B and is presented by IUPAT.
