The “Advance Your Career with AMPP” forum is presented by Keenan Loubser and Pam Nicoletti, AMPP. It will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. local time in room 702. This session is targeted at AMPP certified professionals, workforce development managers, or anyone looking to enhance their career. Join this forum to get the latest updates on AMPP education, certification, and future opportunities driving workforce needs.

The “EAPA Seminar: Intelligent Corrosion Control” forum is presented virtually by Bei Gu of AMPP, and it will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time. With staggering and increasing corrosion losses globally, stronger, smarter yet more sustainable technologies are being needed for corrosion mitigation and control. This seminar will focus on the topics relevant to Intelligent Corrosion Control, including smart materials for corrosion protection, sensors and devices for corrosion monitoring and inspection, and corrosion modelling and prediction.

The “Why Do Coatings & Linings Systems Fail Prematurely? How to Investigate Premature Failures When They Occur” forum is presented by Mike O’Brien of MARK 10 Resource Group, Inc. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time in rooms 401 and 402. This tutorial is based on hundreds of real-life coating failures investigated by the presenter during his 42 years in the coating industry.  

The discussion addresses coating failures that occur on steel, concrete, hot-dip galvanizing, and ductile iron substrates and explains the important properties for each of these substrates to consider when selecting and applying coatings to them. It will also include a section on basic principles to employ when investigating a premature coating failure.
