A vast spectrum of learning opportunities are available Tuesday at the 2023 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo. Several forums will be offered for attendees to choose from, including the following.
The “Insulation Selection and Managing Corrosion Under Insulation” forum is presented by Michael Pardo, S&B Engineers and David Hunter, Hempel USA. It will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time in room 405.
One definition of sustainability is “the avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance.” Reducing energy consumption and therefore, by definition, the natural resources to produce the energy, is not only good environmental practice but also good business practice. This forum will discuss the engineering selection of insulation systems, their performance and corrosion under insulation considerations.
The “PHMSA Pipeline Safety” forum is hosted by Kevin Garrity, MEARS; and presented by Alan Mayberry, PHMSA; Bill Caram, Pipeline Safety Trust; and Debbie Franco, South Jersey Gas. It will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time in room Four Seasons 4.
PHMSA and AMPP members play a critical role in protecting the public from potential catastrophic failures of liquid/gas pipelines. Join policymakers, regulators, and industry experts for a discussion on how PHMSA and other agencies address corrosion in pipeline safety.
The PHMSA forum will provide both a regulator and industry perspective on best pipeline safety practices and the latest developments, and it will give attendees a chance to hear an annual update from key PHMSA officials and discuss proposed rules that may be considered in 2023. Additionally, viewers will have the opportunity to hear from fellow members and stakeholders on the latest trends in pipeline safety.
The “Contractor Forum on OSHA Blood Lead Level Rule” forum will offer attendees a chance to hear directly from U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) officials, along with insight from fellow members and stakeholders on the latest trends in workforce strategy. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time in rooms 401 and 402.
Each day, OSHA and AMPP members play a critical role in ensuring safe and healthful working conditions for America’s workforce. This forum allows for policymakers and industry experts to jointly discuss how OSHA is considering updates to its federal lead standards for general industry (applicable also to maritime) and construction. The forum will provide both a regulator and industry perspective on best practices and the latest developments.
