EMERG Student Camp Offers Hands-on Knowledge to Local Students

Held Wednesday in The Quad of the Exhibit Hall, the EMERG Student Camp takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for high school students from the New Orleans area. During this day-long event, local students will participate in hands-on coatings and corrosion activities. Using AMPP corrosion toolkits known as cKits, these students will learn basic scientific principles of corrosion such as oxidation, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry.

In addition, during this event held in conjunction with the 2024 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo, students are exposed to research and career opportunities from industry professionals and university students, and they will have an opportunity to tour the AMPP 2024 show floor.

So, if you know of a young or emerging corrosion professional who would benefit from this experience, we encourage you and them to stop by and gain invaluable knowledge that will serve them well in the next phase of their professional lives!
