Wednesday’s Forums Include Focus on Water/Wastewater Infrastructure, Bridge Coatings

In the final day of forums at the 2024 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo, a range of exciting learning opportunities are being offered Wednesday. Several forums will be available to choose from, including the following.

The “AMPP & AWWA: Synergy in Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Sustainability Through Optimization of Life Cycle Costing via Corrosion Control” forum is presented by Amir Eliezer, Immediate Past Chair, AMPP Board and Randy Moore, AWWA Vice President and Tnemec Co., Inc. It will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time in room 222.

This joint workshop between AMPP and AWWA will discuss common approaches and synergies to reach water/wastewater infrastructure asset management and sustainability goals by optimizing life cycle costs through proper corrosion control strategies. Both AMPP and AWWA have several useful publications that will be discussed offering helpful strategies for water/wastewater infrastructure asset management service life extension which results in lowest life cycle costs and most sustainable solutions.

The “Bridge Coatings Forum” is hosted by hosted by GPI (Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.), and will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time in room 218.

It will feature presentations and a panel Q&A session with industry experts. Key topics to be covered include corrosion protection, coatings, and challenges in bridge preservation. The presenters and panel members include representatives from various transportation agencies and leading experts in the bridge industry. The forum aims to provide a platform for open discussions among professionals already engaged in the industry and those seeking to enter it. Additionally, the forum will explore how AMPP can offer support to address the issues facing infrastructure. Overall, the event provides an opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration within the bridge coatings industry.

The “AMPP Valuing Voices Forum” is presented by Kailey Dharam with Dairyland; Mary Macedo with Equity Engineering Group, and Kelsey May with MESA. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time in room R09.

On a mission to build an inclusive community of excellence where every voice is valued, the AMPP Valuing Voices Forum will provide an opportunity for AMPP members to learn about topics like the importance of diversity in growing our industry, the power of inclusion, and the role of leadership in creating a people-first environment. The forum will include two sessions: the first offering a paid ticket breakfast and the second featuring internationally recognized speaker and thought leader, Tracy Spears.
