Tuesday Symposia Cover an Array of Topics

Tuesday’s AMPP Conference + Expo offers dozens of symposia covering a wide range of topics. Here are just a few of the offerings.

From 10:10 to 10:35 a.m. in Room R05, Shortcomings Regarding the Testing of Oil and Gas Corrosion Inhibitors will explore the factors that increase complexity when designing a corrosion inhibitor laboratory test program that will deliver reliable results. Alyn Jenkins, Khoa Ky, and David Orta explain that laboratory selection of oilfield corrosion inhibitors is an essential aspect of every asset integrity program that is implemented in oil and gas fields.

A 2:45 p.m. session in Room R03, A Novel Approach To Assessing DC Stray Current Interference Without Potential Interruption proposes a novel approach to assess a procedure for testing whether a pipeline may be interfered with from DC stray current. With the rise in popularity of portable coupons in AC mitigation testing, the paper’s presenter proposes a method to evaluate DC stray current with a portable or stationary coupon without requiring potential interruption on foreign structures.

In Geothermal Scaling and Corrosion from 1 to 5 p.m. in Room R08, authors will present their technical papers to promote discussion of scaling and corrosion in geothermal energy systems. Papers will provide  insight on the impact of production, process and reinjection conditions on materials and process efficiency.
