Starting Monday night, students from 26 universities will be presenting their research in the AMPP Student Poster Session, sponsored by BP. Each student has prepared a poster that showcases their project, which will be evaluated by a panel of judges from the industry.
The student posters are grouped in three categories: Fontana Category of Corrosion Engineering, Pourbaix Category of Corrosion Science, and the Herro-Appleman Category of Applied Materials Protection Technology. After presenting their posters on Monday and Tuesday, judges will select the top posters, with monetary prizes awarded to first, second, and third place in each category, along with the top undergraduate poster, which receives the David Shifler Undergraduate Award.
Students will be giving short presentations about their posters on Monday from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall. The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. near the Student Poster Session.
The awards ceremony will be live-streamed on Facebook by CORROSION journal, the sponsoring publication, and the first-place winner of each of the three categories will be invited to write an open access poster letter published in CORROSION.
