Dr. Narasi Sridhar is the 2025 recipient of AMPP’s Wilis Whitney Technical Achievement Award. He received the award for his sustained contributions in development of the fundamental understanding of localized corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion prediction.
In Tuesday’s lecture, he will discuss the challenges and opportunities in living with aging materials. A general framework forassessing the aging of materials, corrosion models, and how to anticipate failure processes that have not occurred yet will be covered.
Dr. Sridhar, who has been a member of AMPP since the early 1980s and an AMPP fellow since 2005, has worked in corrosion modeling and life prediction, corrosion risk assessment and management, sustainable design, and energy storage devices. Originally from Chennai, India, Dr. Sridhar moved to the United States for his graduate studies. He has previously worked for Haynes International, Southwest Research Institute, and DNV, and currently is CEO of MC Consult LLC and is a research professor at The Ohio State University.
