Jobsite Challenges Forum Offers Real-World Perspectives

Maintaining safety on jobsites is critical to ensuring operational success. Learn strategies aimed at enhancing safety, ensuring compliance, and improving practices during the “Jobsite Challenges, Strategies, and Safety Programs” forum from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17.

The forum will be held in room 361 DE inside Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center, which is hosting the 2026 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo.

Led by Santiago Codolar, strategic raw materials project coordinator with Hempel, the forum will explore challenges impacting the entire paints industry value chain — including hazardous materials and environmental risks.  

In his presentation, Codolar will examine an initiative known as the Red Raw Material Program. It was developed to manage the use of hazardous materials, minimize environmental impact, and safeguard the health and safety of workers by identifying and addressing the most concerning substances used in formulations.  

Elsewhere, the critical role of fireproofing in the petrochemical industry presents unique challenges in brownfield and revamp onshore oil and gas projects. To elaborate, Shiv Jadeja of Fluor Corporation will present a paper addressing the complexities of fireproofing determination and material selection.  

Finally, using a case study that highlights an incident of localized buckling of a gas storage trunkline — which demonstrates the importance of field inspection — Mohammed Almana of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will share how the issue was mitigated through measures that successfully restored the pipeline’s stability while ensuring safe, reliable operations.  

The forum is described by AMPP as being ideal for professionals in fields such as health and safety; quality management; research and development (R&D); specifiers and standards developers; project owners, and engineering firm representatives.

Ultimately, the forum aims to bolster our understanding of safety and health strategies being nonnegotiable pillars of the industry, as well as increase the industry’s commitment to integrating safer materials and processes at every stage of operations.
