CoatingsPro Magazine, AMPP’s publication for contractors working on high-performance commercial and industrial coating projects in the field, celebrated the winners of its 2026 Contractor Awards Program during a presentation held Tuesday afternoon on the Student Poster Stage in the Exhibit Hall at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center. More than a dozen contractors or their representatives accepted their plaques and/or trophies live onstage.
AMPP CEO Alan Thomas spoke during the presentation about the vital work performed by coatings contractors.
“Contractors are where plans, specifications, and products meet reality. They are the professionals who take the systems we design and manufacture and apply them in real-world conditions — often in environments that are complex, demanding, and constantly changing. Their work requires not only technical skill, but also experience, judgment, and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety,” Thomas said.
Presented by Lisa Sciortino, managing editor of CoatingsPro, the 2026 winners are:
• Work It Safe: Performance Contracting Inc. for “USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71)” project
• MVP: BlackHawk Painting, Inc. for “Amtrak ADASP Upgrades Richmond CA” project
Details about the winners will be featured in the July 2026 issue of CoatingsPro. Additional information about the program can be found at www.coatingspromag.com/contractor-awards.
